The minimum temperature in all parts of Kashmir has dropped below zero degree Celsius. Cold has also increased in Jammu division.

Jammu on Sunday felt more cold. During the day cold winds continued to blow in the midst of light sunshine. The day temperature here was 20.5 and last night’s minimum temperature was 7.7 degree Celsius. The mercury has been running below 10 degrees for the last few nights. The minimum temperature in the division’s Banihal was 17.0, Batote 15.3, Katra 18.2 and Bhaderwah 15.5 degrees Celsius.

Due to increasing cold in Leh and Kargil, water has started freezing in pipes in many mountainous areas. Last night’s minimum temperature in Leh touched minus 12.3 degrees Celsius, while the day’s temperature was recorded at 1.6 degrees Celsius. The minimum temperature in Kargil was minus 9.1 and the day temperature was 3.9 degrees.
