After Cyclone Hurricane Tauktae , the government and military are now fully prepared to deal with cyclone Yaas in the Bay of Bengal. While the Home Ministry is keeping an eye on it, the Navy has deployed four warships and helicopters, while the Air Force has deployed 11 cargo planes and 25 helicopters like Cheetah, Chetak and MI-17.
The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) said that Yaas coming at a speed of 155-165 kmph can hit the coast of West Bengal and North Odisha at the speed of 185 kmph on the evening of 26 May. This may cause heavy rainfall in the coastal districts of Bengal and North Odisha.
At the same time, the Meteorological Department has forecast the storm Yaas arising due to low pressure in the Bay of Bengal. According to the Meteorological Department, cyclone may change in a ‘severe cyclonic storm’ in the next 24 hours.

Home minister Amit Shah is holding a high-level meeting in view of the Yaas storm. Senior officials of the ministry and some senior officers of the army are also present in the meeting.

On the other hand, regarding the Cyclone Yaas, the PM has asked the risky areas to send people to safe places. The Prime Minister has appealed to senior officials to work in close cooperation with the states. He directed all the departments to reduce the time cut in power and telecom network and speedy restoration of power and telecommunication network.
