Rudraprayag, 9 March 2024: The doors of the world famous eleventh Jyotirlinga Shri Kedarnath Dham will open at 7 am on Friday 10th May this year. And on May 5, the worship of Lord Bhairavnath will be completed at Shri Omkareshwar Temple, Ukhimath. The Panchmukhi Bhog idol of Lord Kedarnath will leave for Shri Kedarnath Dham from Panchkedar Gaddi site Shri Omkareshwar Temple Ukhimath on 6th May and will reach Kedarnath Dham on 9th May evening after passing through various stops.

Today, on the festival of Shivratri, in the presence of Shri Badrinath-Kedarnath-Temple Committee (BKTC) President Ajendra Ajay, Rawal Acharya-Vedpathis performed puja, rituals, rituals, Panchang calculation at Shri Omkareshwar Temple Ukhimath and the date of opening of the doors of Shri Kedarnath Dham. Decided. During this, Shri Aukareshwar Temple was decorated with 11 quintals of flowers and donors distributed Bhandara and Prasad to the devotees.

On this occasion, BKTC President Ajendra Ajay wished Shivratri to the devotees and said that during the last Yatra period, a record number of pilgrims reached Shri Kedarnath Dham. This year too, the number of devotees will increase. Under the leadership of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, the state government and the temple committee are working with commitment for the facilities of the pilgrims. Soon the team of the temple committee will reach Kedarnath and take stock of the preparations before the yatra.

In the press release issued, BKTC media in-charge Dr. Harish Gaur said that today itself the program of departure to Shri Kedarnath Dham from Shri Omkareshwar Temple Ukhimath, the Panchkedar Gaddi site of the Panchmukhi Bhog idol of Lord Kedar Nath was also announced.

According to the programme, the worship of Lord Bhairavnath will be held at Shri Omkareshwar Temple Ukhimath on 5th May. The Panchmukhi Bhogmurti of Lord Kedarnath will depart from Shri Omkareshwar Temple Ukhimath on 6th May for Kedarnath Dham via various stops. First stop Guptkashi on 6th May, second stop Fata on 7th May, third stop Gaurikund on 8th May and Panchmukhi Doli will reach Shri Kedarnath Dham on 9th May evening. And the doors of Shri Kedarnath Dham will open on Friday, May 10 at 7 am.

The priests were given the work responsibility for Shri Kedarnath II Kedar Shri Madmaheshwar Temple. Shivshankar will take up the responsibility of Linga Puja for Shri Kedarnath Dham. Whereas T Gangadhar will perform the responsibility of Linga Puja for Shri Madmaheshwar. Shri Bagesh Linga has been kept as additional. Shiv Linga will offer prayers at the flattened Shri Omkareshwar temple in Ukhimath.
