Instructions given to install solar panels and rain water harvesting system in government buildings

Pauri Garhwal: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of 158 schemes costing Rs 133 crore 14 lakh during his visit to the district. In which 137 schemes worth Rs 80 crore have been inaugurated and the foundation stone of 21 schemes worth Rs 53 crore has been laid.

In the review meeting held at Vikas Bhawan Auditorium, the Chief Minister directed the officers that no one should keep pendency at their level and should not forward the work at which it is to be done to a higher level. The departments should implement the development works with better coordination. Said that in order to maintain the old glory of the district, all the divisional officers should also stay in the divisional headquarters regularly and perform their work.

The Chief Minister said that hostels will be constructed for the candidates of competitive examinations. He gave instructions to compulsorily install solar panels and rain water harvesting systems on government buildings. It was also said that departmental work should not be merely formal, it should be done with the view that it should yield results. Said that the officers should listen to the problems of the people and try to satisfy them.

The Chief Minister said that during the monsoon season, all the personnel should be on alert mode, wherever any small or big disaster occurs, they should immediately provide all possible help. CM directed the Commissioner and District Magistrate to regularly monitor the ongoing construction work and increase its progress.

He directed the departments to work on innovative efforts to attract tourists in the district. Every year the Forest Department should make efforts to curb forest fires in time and prevent human-wildlife conflict. Also, publicity should be given on a large scale to create awareness among the general public about the conservation of water and natural resources. Said that on Harela festival, not only plant trees but also take a pledge to save trees.

CM directed that in order to avail maximum benefits of their departmental schemes, the departments should organize camps in remote areas to inform the people about the schemes, fill their applications and keep in touch with the people regularly. Inform people about various schemes even in the meetings of BDC and Tehsil Day.

Inauguration of Bedu Processing Unit
The Chief Minister inaugurated the mountain fig (Bedu) processing unit built with the assistance of Rs 21 lakh near the development block office, Pauri. Which is being operated by Umang Autonomous Cooperative Pauri. He took stock of the products being made from bedu in the unit and appreciated this unique effort.
