Dehradun, Uttarakhand – The festival of colours, Holi, was celebrated with great pomp in Uttarakhand. Groups of Holiyars, immersed in the colors of Holi, reached every street. Along with the local villagers, domestic and foreign tourists played Holi a lot and also performed Tandi dance in Nishani village on Hanumanji Dodital Gulabi Kandha trek adjacent to Yamunotri Dham.

Dr. Naresh Panwar of the village told that the tourists also performed Tandi dance to the tune of Someshwar Maharaj, the idol of the area. A grand Holi was played in Gopinath temple. People applied color and gulal on each other and danced vigorously on the songs.

Mass Holi programs were organized at various places. Holi was organized in Meher Dham of Roorkee area. People who arrived here from different states including Calcutta, Mumbai, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Delhi organized a program in the memory of Baba Meher. Whereas CM Pushkar Singh Dhami celebrated the festival of Holi with Governor Lieutenant General Gurmeet Singh and former CM Bhagat Singh Koshyari, Bhuvan Chandra Khanduri and Congress leader Harish Rawat.

Earlier on Sunday, Holi was also celebrated with joy and enthusiasm in the Chief Minister’s residence complex. During this time, many politicians also attended the Holi Milan program.

CM Dhami also performed traditional dance with everyone while playing Dhol Damau and Dhafli.
