The climate level of Punjab has started improving now. The level of Air Quality Index (AQI) in Amritsar and Bathinda has improved from Orange to Yellow Zone. Things have not returned to normal in Ludhiana and Jalandhar yet. Right now the average AQI level is made at 200 to 220.
Now weather experts say that there is a possibility of rain soon, after which the level of AQI will improve in other districts of the state. A few days ago, the level of AQI was very poor in Amritsar and other districts of the state. During that time incidents of stubble burning were increasing. Now that the incidents of stubble burning have completely stopped in the state, the situation regarding air pollution in the cities has started improving.
On Friday, the AQI level of Bathinda was recorded at 170 and that of Amritsar was 141. It comes in the Yellow Zone. At the same time, the situation has not become normal in Jalandhar, Ludhiana and Patiala also. Jalandhar recorded 210, Ludhiana and Patiala 220 air quality index. This level comes in the Orange Zone. In this level of pollution, people may have trouble breathing.
