Dehradun – The temple is being decorated with 15 quintals of flowers, the doli reached the Dham.

After opening the doors of Kedarnath, Gangotri- Yamunotri, now the doors of Badrinath Dham will open. The palanquin of Lord Badrinath has reached the Dham today on Saturday. A large number of devotees have reached the Dham amid the cheers of Badrivishal. Badrinath temple is being decorated with 15 quintals of flowers. Tomorrow Sunday at 6 am the doors of Badrinath Dham will be opened for the devotees.First of all, the process of grinding the oil to be applied to Lord Badri Vishal during the Yatra period started. There is a tradition that Lord Badri Vishal is bathed every day at Brahma Muhurta at four o’clock. After bathing, Lord Badri Vishal is coated (massaged) with sesame oil.

Sesame oil is considered pure for anointing the Lord. Besides, it is also used in Akhand Jyati. Therefore this oil is ground on silbatta. So that there is no adulteration in it. There is a tradition that only married women thread this oil. This oil is ground in collaboration with the Maharani of Tehri royal court. After this it is kept in an urn which is called Gadu Ghada.In the presence of Queen Mala Rajyalakshmi Shah, many married women of the city extracted oil. After Ganesh puja, pestle puja, mortar puja and fire puja, many brides and queens of the city wore yellow clothes and roasted sesame seeds in a pan and extracted oil by grinding them in a mortar and pestle.

Gadu pitcher will be installed in the sanctum sanctorum on the occasion of opening of doors of Badrinath on 12th May in the morning.Gaadu Ghada Yatra has reached Badrinath Dham with Uddhav and Kuber’s doli.With the opening of the doors of Badrinath tomorrow at 6 am on Sunday, the Gadu pitcher will be installed in the sanctum sanctorum. After this, this oil will be applied to Lord Badri Vishal daily.

The doors of all three Dhams were opened with due ceremony amid the cheers of thousands of devotees who arrived on Friday. About 45 thousand devotees visited on the first day.
