Flood havoc continues in Uttar Pradesh. 1171 villages in 24 districts of the state have come under the grip of floods. Relief Commissioner Ranveer Prasad has directed the district magistrates to help the flood affected. The people trapped in the floods should be evacuated to safe places, so that no loss of life is caused.

According to the Relief Commissioner’s office, many villages of Mirzapur, Prayagraj, Jalaun, Banda, Hamirpur, Ballia, Varanasi, Etawah, Kaushambi, Banda, Kanpur countryside have been hit by floods. Some villages of Farrukhabad, Chitrakoot, Agra, Chandauli, Ghazipur, Bahraich, Gorakhpur, Sitapur, Kheri, Shahjahanpur, Gonda, Ayodhya and Fatehpur are also in the grip of floods. River Ganga is flowing above the danger mark in Kachlabridge (Badayun), Phaphamau (Prayagraj), Prayagraj, Mirzapur, Varanasi, Ghazipur and Ballia. Yamuna is flowing above the danger mark at Kalpi (Jalaun), Hamirpur, Chilaghat (Banda), Naini (Prayagraj).

1228 flood posts have been made across the state. During the last 24 hours 70050 lunch packets were distributed among the flood victims. 1992 boats have been deployed to help the flood victims, so that they can be shifted to safer places on need basis. Teams of NDRF, SDRF and PAC have been deployed for rescue and relief operations. A total of 59 teams of rescue operations are going on in 43 districts of the state.
