The Meteorological Center Shimla has issued an orange alert of heavy rain and hailstorm in the plains and central mountainous parts of Himachal Pradesh on October 17 and 18. At the same time, an alert of heavy snowfall has been issued in some parts of the peaks and high mountainous areas.

Due to the activity of Western Disturbance, the weather is going to change in Himachal Pradesh. An orange alert has been issued by the Meteorological Center Shimla for two days of heavy to very heavy rain in the state. At the same time, there is a possibility of heavy snowfall on the peaks. The Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert of heavy rain and hailstorm in the plain and central mountainous parts of the state on October 17 and 18. At the same time, an alert of heavy snowfall has been issued in some parts of the peaks and high mountainous areas. The weather is forecast to remain clear in the state on October 19 and 20. In view of the heavy rain and snowfall alert, the Meteorological Department has advised tourists and general public to take adequate safety measures.

Orange alert issued for these districts
The Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert for Bilaspur, Chamba, Kangra, Kullu, Mandi, Shimla, Solan, Sirmaur, Kinnaur and Lahaul-Spiti districts. There is a yellow alert for Una and Hamirpur for two days. At the same time, the weather remained clear throughout the day in other parts of the state including the capital Shimla.
