“In Delhi, The higher authorities have now allowed home delivery of liquor only to L-13 license holders”

The Capital of India’s Government have allowed to deliver liquor to homes through websites and mobile applications by making a legal provision for it. On Monday, The provision has been included in the Delhi Excise (Amendment) Rules, 2021.

As per the excise officials, The new rule does not permits every liquor retailer to deliver alcohol at the consumer’s doorsteps. “Only L-13 license holders,” can deliver the liquor at the doorsteps.

The new rule includes that the licensee should make delivery of liquor at the residences only if the order is received through a mobile app or online website and no delivery shall be made to any hostel, office, and institution.

Moreover, The licensee will be able to serve Indian liquor, foreign liquor, wine or beer either in glasses or in full bottles but they have to ensure that no customer takes the served bottles out of the licensed premises.
