Shiromani Akali Dal candidate from Patiala Lok Sabha constituency NK Sharma cornered former MPs Preneet Kaur and Dharamveer Gandhi on the issue of devastation caused by Ghaggar river every year and said that during their tenure no efforts were made for a permanent solution to this problem. Neither was there any seriousness shown towards the problems of the people of the villages adjoining Ghaggar.

During the election campaign nk Sharma were held public meetings in Rampur Kalan, Kannur, Khizargarh, Karala, Dharamgarh, Mathiyara, Manauli Surat, Salempur, Chharbar, Budhanpur, Khalor, Changera, Buta Singh Wala, Jalalpur, Jansala, Bunar villages of Rajpura Were addressing.

He said that the current Bharatiya Janata Party candidate Preneet Kaur has become MP from here four times on Congress ticket, yet she never made efforts for a permanent solution to the problem of Ghaggar River. At the same time, Dharamveer Gandhi has also been an MP from Aam Aadmi Party, who is the Congress candidate in this election. The Akali Dal candidate said that he has understood the problems of the people by visiting the villages on the banks of river Ghaggar.

This is not such a big problem that it cannot be solved permanently. So far it has simply been a lack of will on the part of MPs. Who used the innocent people of Puadhi area for votes and then forgot them. Sharma said that after winning the elections, his first task will be to find a permanent solution to the problem of Ghaggar river.
