For the last 39 days, the members of the Temporary Teachers’ Union Punjab have been protesting outside the Punjab School Education Board for their demands. Even after holding talks with the ministers and leaders several times earlier, the demands of the teachers are not being met, due to which there is a fierce protest from the teachers.
After the coronation of Navjot Sidhu at Congress Bhavan on Friday, 11 teachers climbed the roof of the building and started shouting slogans. Meanwhile, on Saturday, a meeting of teachers is going to be held with Sandeep Singh, political advisor to Chief Minister Punjab Captain Amarinder Singh. Teachers say that their absolutely clear demand is that they have been teaching children in schools for the last several years, so they should be ensured.
The teachers sitting outside the Education Board office are being encouraged by three teachers who have climbed on the 7th floor of the board for 39 days. Rooftop teachers Raja Aulakh, Beant Singh Patiala and Kuldeep Barnala’s condition has worsened due to sun, rain and night stay but still they say they will not come down until their demands are met.
Regarding the meeting to be held today by the temporary teachers, it is being said that if the government accepts their demands, then it is okay, otherwise there will be a fierce protest in the coming days. The teachers said that it was earlier said by the Congress leaders that their demands would be fulfilled after the formation of the government, but even after the completion of four and a half years, the government did not take care of the temporary teachers.
The temporary teachers had talks with the education minister and top officials of the government, but the result turned out to be zero. For this reason, the angry teachers demonstrated vigorously in front of CM Kothi at Siswan Farm House. Apart from this, several attempts were made to enter the Chandigarh border from Mohali YPS Chowk to reach the CM House, in which many of his companions were injured. After the coronation ceremony of Navjot Sidhu in Chandigarh on Friday, teachers raised slogans on the roof of the building to register a protest. Apart from this, an attempt was also made to block the way of Congress leaders going to the coronation program on the airport road.

Today again teachers hope

Now the government has once again held a meeting to talk to them today. The government is trying to end the teachers’ protest by any means. If there is no result in today’s meeting also, the teachers will protest again. The programs of August 15 are about to come, in such a situation, they are being talked to by the government today.
