After Hathras incident, the whole country is in mourning, from President Murmu to PM Modi expressed grief, compensation also announced

Hathras: A tragic incident has happened during a satsang in Hathras, UP. 60 people have been confirmed dead in the stampede here and this figure may cross 100. Many people have also been injured in this accident. All the leaders of the country including PM Modi, Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi, UP CM have expressed grief over this accident.

CM Yogi wrote on Twitter, ‘The loss of life in the unfortunate accident in Hathras district is extremely sad and heartbreaking. My condolences are with the bereaved families. I have instructed the concerned officials to conduct relief and rescue operations on a war footing and provide proper treatment to the injured. Ministers in the Uttar Pradesh government, Laxmi Narayan Chaudhary, Sandeep Singh have left for the site of the incident and have directed the Chief Secretary and Director General of Police of the state to reach the site of the incident. A team has been formed under the leadership of ADG, Agra and Commissioner, Aligarh and instructions have also been given to investigate the causes of the accident. I pray to Lord Shri Ram to give a place to the departed souls in his lotus feet and give speedy recovery to the injured.’

CM Yogi has ordered a thorough investigation into the stampede in Hathras and expressed condolences to the bereaved families of the deceased. The CM has directed to provide financial assistance of Rs 2 lakh each to the families of the deceased and Rs 50,000 each to the injured.

CM Yogi himself is monitoring the incident and has sent 2 ministers, Chief Secretary and DGP to the spot. A team has been formed under the leadership of ADG, Agra and Commissioner, Aligarh and has been instructed to investigate the causes of the accident and a report has been sought within 24 hours.
In this case, an FIR will be lodged against the event organisers. The government is taking this matter very seriously and is preparing to take major action.

President Murmu expressed grief
President Draupadi Murmu expressed grief over this accident. She wrote on Twitter, ‘The news of the death of many devotees including women and children in the accident in Hathras district of Uttar Pradesh is heart-wrenching. I express my deepest condolences to those who lost their family members and wish for the speedy recovery of those injured.’

PM Modi assured all possible help
PM Modi is addressing the Lok Sabha in response to the President’s motion of thanks. During this, he expressed grief over the Hathras incident. He said in the Lok Sabha that there are reports of many people dying in the stampede in Hathras, UP. I express my condolences to those who have lost their lives. I wish for the speedy recovery of the injured. The state government is engaged in relief and rescue work. The central government is also working with the UP government. On behalf of the central government, I fully assure that every possible help will be provided.
PM Modi wrote on Twitter, ‘Talked to Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath ji regarding the tragic incident in Hathras, Uttar Pradesh. The UP government is engaged in all possible help to all the victims. My condolences are with those who have lost their loved ones in this. Along with this, I wish for the speedy recovery of all the injured.’

Rahul Gandhi expressed grief
Congress leader Rahul Gandhi also expressed grief over the incident and wrote on Twitter that ‘The news of the death of many devotees due to the stampede during the satsang in Hathras, Uttar Pradesh is extremely painful. I express my deepest condolences to all the bereaved families and hope for the speedy recovery of the injured. The government and administration are requested to provide all possible treatment to the injured and relief to the affected families. All the workers of INDIA are requested to provide their cooperation in relief and rescue.’

Amit Shah expressed condolences: Union Home Minister Amit Shah has also expressed condolences on this accident. He wrote on Instagram, ‘The mind is deeply saddened by the tragic accident in Hathras, Uttar Pradesh. I express my condolences to the families of those who lost their lives in this accident. May God give them strength to bear this suffering. The local administration is engaged in relief work. I wish for the speedy recovery of the injured.’ In another post, he wrote, ‘Talked to Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Shri Yogi Adityanath ji regarding the accident in Hathras and got information about the incident and assured all possible help from the central government. Soon the NDRF medical team is also reaching Hathras.’

Mayawati demands investigation into Hathras and Agra incidents
Bahujan Samaj Party chief Mayawati has mentioned the Hathras incident as well as an accident in Agra. She has expressed grief over both these incidents and has demanded investigation and action. Mayawati has written on the post, ‘It is very sad that a large number of people died and many were injured in the stampede during a satsang in Hathras district of UP and a youth was killed during a Buddhist/Bhim Katha in Agra. The government should investigate these incidents and take appropriate action and provide financial assistance to the victim families.’

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh expressed grief
The country’s Defence Minister Rajnath Singh also expressed grief over the incident. He wrote on Twitter, ‘The accident in Hathras district of Uttar Pradesh is extremely painful. My deepest condolences to the bereaved families who have lost their loved ones in this accident. Along with this, I wish for the speedy recovery of all the injured. Under the supervision of the state government, the local administration is providing all possible help to all the victims.’

I appeal to the state government to provide proper compensation to the victims and make arrangements for the treatment of the injured.’
