The issue of caste census is gaining momentum ahead of the assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh. On Monday, leaders of 11 parties, including Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, met Prime Minister Narendra Modi and raised the demand for caste-wise census. Earlier, SP President Akhilesh Yadav has also announced to conduct caste-wise census in UP after coming to power.
