Uttarakhand, 2 May 2024: The work of removing snow from the Astha Path of Hemkund Sahib is going on. The army and the servants of the Gurudwara Trust, which organized the yatra, made their way through the snow and reached the holy land of Shri Hemkund Sahib. After Ardas, the main gate of the Gurudwara courtyard was opened here in the presence of 35 members of the Army and 15 servants of the Trust.
With the opening of the main gate of the Gurudwara, the work of removing snow on the route below Hemkund Sahib has been started. As soon as the weather cleared, the army personnel and Gurudwara servants started the work of removing snow from the Astha Path of Hemkund Sahib. The Hemkund Sahib Yatra route is covered with snow beyond Atlakoti Glacier Point, two km ahead of Ghangaria.
Army soldiers and servicemen had left for Ghangaria from Govindghat on Sunday. They were supposed to start snow removal work on Monday, but due to bad weather the work could not be done on Monday. The weather remained clear on Tuesday. After which the army personnel and servicemen first inspected the route and then the work of removing snow was started.
Today the army soldiers have reached Hemkund Sahib. The work of removing snow on the route below has been started.
The journey to Hemkund Sahib will start from May 25. Senior manager of Gurudwara Seva Singh said that the soldiers and sevadars have started the work of removing snow from the Hemkund Sahib Yatra route.
He said that on Tuesday the Energy Corporation team also inspected the power lines damaged by snow. After which the repair work of the line will be started here.
Electricity supply is disrupted in Ghangaria, due to which communication service has not been able to start there.
