Holi is the day of prevention of distress caused by devotion, on this day there is a law to worship Agnidev before Holika Dahan or Holika Deep. Lord Agni is prominent among the five elements who, after being present in the body of all beings as Agnitva, protect the body’s modesty in the afterlife. They do the same justice to all organisms. That is why all Sanatan Dharmavalambi Vaishnava devotees pray to avert the crisis on Prahrad and to provide them with coolness in exchange for heat by Agnidev.
Holika Dahan Muhurta
In all our scriptures, the same things have been said regarding the law for Holika Dahan. As Bhadra has passed at the time of fire burning, Pradosh Vyapini Purnima Tithi, then this period is considered to be the best. If there is a lack of Pradosh Vyapini Purnima without Bhadra but Bhadra ends before midnight, then Holika Dahan should be done when Bhadra ends after Pradosh. If Bhadra prevails till midnight, then in such a situation Holika Dahan can be done during Bhadra tail. But Holika Dahan should never be done in Bhadra Mukh. In the rare situation if Holika Dahan is not possible in both Pradosh and Bhadra tail then Holika Dahan should be done after Pradosh. The Muhurta of Holika Dahan is more important and necessary than the Muhurta of any other festival, because Bhadra is the defiant daughter of Suryadev and there is a doubt in his presence or the work done in the Muhurta. As a blessing of Brahma ji, no one can stop him from hindering work in his presence.

Rangwali Holi, also known as Dhulandi, is celebrated only after Holika Dahan and this day is considered the main day for playing Holi. On the day of Holika Pujan, purify the Ganga water and put dry dung, dry wood, dry grass etc. in it. After this, sit facing east or north direction.
