New Delhi, 14 April 2024: The Bharatiya Janata Party has released its election manifesto for the Lok Sabha elections 2024. Prime Minister Modi released it in the presence of all senior leaders at the BJP headquarters in Delhi. The document of this manifesto has been named Modi Ki Guarantee. This Sankalp Patra of the party is 76 pages long. On this occasion, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh said that the manifesto committee received about 15 lakh suggestions. Four lakh suggestions were received from the NaMo app and 10 lakh from the video. After considering all, the party finalized this Sankalp Patra.

Focusing on the empowerment of the poor, youth, farmers and women, this manifesto emphasizes that when the world is going through a period of uncertainty, India needs a stable government with full majority. PM Modi handed over copies of the election manifesto to the representatives of four broad groups – poor, youth, Annadaata (farmer) and Nari Shakti. PM Modi said that this Sankalp Patra empowers the four strong pillars of developed India – Yuva Shakti, Nari Shakti, poor and farmers. BJP has promised to bring every elderly person above the age of 70 under the ambit of Ayushman Yojana and provide them free treatment up to Rs 5 lakh. The free ration scheme will continue for the next five years.

2014 election manifesto
The Bharatiya Janata Party released its 2014 election manifesto with the slogan ‘Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat’. The slogan of ‘Sabka Saath Sabka Vikas’ was also given. The BJP promised to establish AIIMS in every state, internet in every village and spread bullet train network. Issues like construction of Ram Mandir in Ayodhya, removal of Article 370 from Jammu and Kashmir and Uniform Civil Code were also included in this manifesto. A total of 52 pages of document was released. A 17-member committee was formed for the manifesto. One lakh suggestions came from rural areas. This manifesto was prepared under the leadership of Murli Manohar Joshi.

Special points of the 2014 manifesto

  1. Inflation- Every effort will be made to reduce inflation. Special courts will be formed for cases of black marketing and hoarding.
  2. Black money-corruption: After the formation of the government, the scope of corruption will be eliminated and such a situation will be created so that black money cannot be generated in this system. Every effort will be made to trace and bring back the black money deposited in foreign banks.
  3. Uniform Civil Code- The party has promised to implement the Uniform Civil Code. BJP believes that gender equality cannot be established until the Uniform Civil Code is implemented in India.
  4. Article 370: BJP has clearly stated in its manifesto that it is committed to the view of removing Article 370, which gives special status to Jammu and Kashmir. It has also expressed the resolve to bring back Kashmiri Pandits to Kashmir.
  5. Food Security- BJP has said in its manifesto that it will ensure that the benefits of this scheme reach the common man. The party will make every effort for this.
  6. Women Empowerment- BJP has also emphasized on women empowerment in the manifesto. The party said that a comprehensive plan will be made by incorporating the good points of the schemes running earlier for women so that a positive attitude towards daughters is promoted in the family.
  7. Construction of Ram Temple- BJP has also promised to build Ram Temple in its manifesto.
  8. Bullet Train- BJP has also mentioned in its manifesto about laying a network of bullet trains after coming to power.
  9. Farmers: BJP has said in the manifesto that after coming to power, it will try to give farmers 50 percent more than the cost price. Promise to provide piped water to every village.

2019 Election Manifesto

In 2019, BJP opened the bundle of its election promises in the name of Sankalp Patra. An attempt was made to help farmers, traders and the middle class through this Sankalp Patra. BJP also expressed the resolution of Ram Temple and Article 370 in it. 75 goals were also set on completion of 75 years of independence in 2022.

Special points of 2019 election manifesto

  1. Farmers- In its manifesto, BJP had set a target of doubling the income of farmers by the year 2022. Pension for all small and marginal farmers after the age of 60, work to digitize land records.
  2. Youth and education- Work towards bringing secondary schools under Operation Digital Board. Investment of Rs 1 lakh crore in higher education. Seats will be increased in excellent management and engineering colleges.
  3. Infrastructure- Pucca house to every family. Toilet in every house. Bank account for every citizen. LPG connection to poor rural families. Availability of clean drinking water. Doubling the length of national highways. Gas supply through pipe. Increasing the number of airports.
  4. Women- Justice to Muslim women by making a law against triple talaq. Work towards increasing the participation rate of women workforce.
  5. Railways- Construction of smart railway stations across the country. Conversion and electrification of railway tracks to broad gauge. Wi-Fi facility at railway stations. Completion of freight corridor project.
  6. Economy- Efforts to increase GDP share from infrastructure. Work towards doubling exports. Aim to further improve India’s rank in the Ease of Doing Business ranking.
  7. Good governance- Banking facility at every five km radius. Promote digital adoption. Aim to make government processes completely digital. Work towards reducing air pollution.
  8. Inclusive development- Ensuring insurance, pension etc. for all workers in the unorganized sector. Vaccination of all children. Inclusion of small shopkeepers in PM Shram Yogi Maandhan Yojana.

Special points of 2024 election manifesto

  1. Kisan-Resolve to strengthen PM Fasal Yojana. MSP of 22 crops will be increased in a time bound manner. New clusters for vegetable production and storage. Establishing coarse grains (Shri Ann) as World Superfood. Expansion of natural farming and irrigation facilities
  2. Senior Citizens- All senior citizens above the age of 70 years will get the benefit of ‘Ayushman Bharat’ scheme. Whether someone is rich or poor, everyone will get its benefit. Along with this, people of transgender community will also be brought under its purview. They will get free treatment facility up to Rs 5 lakh.
  3. Free Ration-Modi guarantees that the free ration scheme will continue for the next five years. We will ensure that the food plate of the poor is nutritious, satisfying to his mind and affordable.
  4. Pucca house for the poor- BJP will give pucca houses to three crore poor within five years. It is claimed that the BJP government has built 4 crore pucca houses for the poor. We will work fast to deliver cheap LPG through pipes to every home.
  5. Women- BJP has pledged to make three crore rural women Lakhpati Didi. Women SHGs will be linked to the service sector, women SHG products will be delivered to customers. Work will be done to increase women’s participation in sports. The coming 5 years will be of new participation of Nari Shakti.
  6. Railways- 5,000 km of new tracks will be added every year. Efforts to reduce the waiting list of tickets. Expansion of train security system shield. Expansion of metro network. Vande sleeper train for comfortable long distance travel.
  7. Vande Bharat Train- BJP will also expand Vande Bharat trains in every corner of the country. 3 models of Vande Bharat will run in the country – Sleeper, Chair Car and Vande Bharat Metro. Survey work will also start soon for the project of one bullet train each in North India, South India and East India.
  8. Food Processing: BJP’s resolution is to make India a food processing hub. This will add value, increase the benefit of the farmer and also create new employment opportunities. To make India a Global Nutrition Hub, BJP will give a lot of emphasis on Shri Anna. This will be of special benefit to more than 2 crore small farmers producing Shri Anna.
  9. Surya Ghar Free Electricity Scheme- Under the Surya Ghar Free Electricity Scheme, the resolution to work towards reducing the electricity bills of crores of families to zero and creating opportunities for earning from electricity.
  10. Religion and Culture: New projects will be launched for the development of religious and cultural sites. Preservation and study of Indian manuscripts. Translation of Indian literary works into foreign languages.
  11. Uniform Civil Code- BJP believes that women cannot get equal rights until Uniform Civil Code is adopted in India. Uniform Civil Code is recorded as Directive Principles of State Policy in Article 44 of the Constitution.
