New Delhi, 14 Apri 2024: Minister Atishi has written a letter to LG VK Saxena on the issue of water shortage in the national capital Delhi. Referring to the incident in East Delhi, Atishi said that a woman lost her life in a violent fight that started due to water shortage. The minister has requested LG VK Saxena to immediately suspend the CEO of Delhi Jal Board within 24 hours due to this criminal negligence. This has happened under his supervision.
Delhi Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena had recently said that no subsidy scheme of the Delhi government will be stopped. People should avoid such rumors and statements being made for the purpose of gaining political advantage. These schemes are part of the budget approved by the Government of India and the Lieutenant Governor, they do not belong to any person or political party.
Targeting the Aam Aadmi Party, he had said that members and ministers of a particular political party are deliberately giving false and misleading statements to create confusion. According to him, it is being propagated in these statements that after Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal goes to jail, the schemes of Delhi Government related to free electricity, water and free bus travel for women will be stopped.
In view of these rumours, VK Saxena has assured the people of Delhi that no subsidy schemes benefiting the poor will be stopped. He has stressed that the money for these schemes does not come from the account of any person or political party, but their expenses are borne from the Consolidated Fund of Delhi. The money in the Consolidated Fund comes from the people who pay taxes to the Delhi Government.
